Steeplechasing has a long history in Maryland. Steeplechase races rose from competition between various fox hunting clubs. Steeplechasing has not changed much since those early days. The races are still run on fine, warm Spring days over similar courses with an audience of horse-lovers and race fans alike. Broadneck Area Youth Sports, or BAYS, is a non-profit recreation organization serving the young athletes of Maryland’s Broadneck Peninsula. Through the volunteer efforts of our board members, commissioners, and coaches, and in partnership with Anne Arundel County’s Department of Recreation and Parks, we offer participation in Soccer, Field Hockey, Girl’s Basketball, Boy’s Basketball, Girl’s Lacrosse and Boy’s Lacrosse. Our mission is to provide athletic instruction and opportunities for fun and friendly competition in an atmosphere of good sportsmanship and teamwork.
Chase Creek PoolÂ is a private homeowner association neighborhood pool that has been around since the mid-1960’s. Â Built by the WInchester and Pines-On-the-Severn communities, it is open for membership from all surrounding communities.
