Lights on the Bay

Broadneck.Info

Lights on the BayMany residents in the area know the holiday season has begun when they see the illumination of Sandy Point State Park. They have made driving through Anne Arundel Medical Center’s holiday light show “Lights on the Bay” at the park a family tradition for over 10 years.

The “Lights on the Bay” event, which opens in November and runs through Jan 1., features a scenic drive along the shore of the Chesapeake Bay where more than 60 spectacular animated and stationary displays illuminate the roadway.

Eastport Yacht Club Lights Parade

Broadneck.Info

Every year on the second Saturday in December, magic happens on the water of the Annapolis Harbor … boats suddenly appear out of the cold winter night illuminated with thousands of colored lights and crewed by jolly revelers. Families and friends gather at their favorite viewing spots along the waterfront to see this yearly spectacle and to celebrate the holiday season together. The Eastport Yacht Club Lights Parade is one of Annapolis’ signature events.

2010 marks The Eastport Yacht Club’s 28th annual Lights Parade in Annapolis Harbor.  The Lights Parade will take place along the Annapolis Spa Creek waterfront, below and above the bridge. For the parade, area boaters decorate their sailboats and powerboats with holiday lights and decorations. The lights can be seen along Spa Creek, the Severn River (near and opposite the USNA), and Ego Alley/City Dock. Date: Saturday, December 11, 2010 Time:  6:00pm to 8:00pm followed by fireworks.
