Broadneck High School is located on Green Holly Drive. The Bruin is the school’s mascot. It is one of the newer schools in the county. It is known for the breadth of its Advanced Placement program. The Broadneck Bruins are rivals with the nearby Severna Park High School Falcons. BHS feeder middle schools are Severn River Middle School, and Magothy Middle School. The school is a part of the Anne Arundel County Public Schools system and is the district’s test school for the classes of Linear Algebra and Calculus III.

Chesapeake Biological Laboratory

The Chesapeake Biological Laboratory is a marine research facility of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES). UMCES sister campuses include the Horn Point Laboratory, Cambridge, on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, and the Appalachian Laboratory, Frostburg, in the mountains of Western Maryland. UMCES research fleet is located on the CBL Campus.

Maryland State Law Library

The Maryland State Law Library provides legal information to the State’s appellate courts and other branches of State government and serves as a resource center for Circuit Court libraries throughout the State. The library is open to the public, and encourages the use of the Library’s many resources, including laws, general reference materials, state and federal government documents, and state and local histories.

The State Law Library, Maryland’s oldest law library, features one of the State’s most extensive collections of legal and government information resources. Staffed by 18 full-time and part-time, professional and paraprofessional employees, the Library stands ready to serve users from all walks of life.

Greenbury Point Nature Center

The purpose of the Greenbury Point Nature Center is to inform visitors of the rich local natural and cultural resources of Greenbury Point; to educate visitors of the ongoing ecosystem and wildlife habitat reconstruction efforts; and to provide a quiet, natural setting to appreciate nature and our heritage. The building sits on a mostly undeveloped 231 acre peninsula and is bounded by the Severn River, the Chesapeake Bay, and two tidal coves.
