Archaeology in Annapolis is a partnership between the Department of Anthropology at the University of Maryland, College Park, and Historic Annapolis Foundation. Begun in 1981, the Archaeology in Annapolis project has been concerned with promoting better understandings of Annapolis’ diverse past through the interpretation of material culture.

The Eastport Yacht Club’s annual Lights Parade will be held on Saturday, December 8th, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. For the parade, area boaters decorate their sailboats and powerboats with holiday lights and decorations. The lights can be seen along Spa Creek, the Severn River (near and opposite the USNA), and Ego Alley/City Dock.

The Banneker-Douglass Museum, named for Benjamin Banneker and Frederick Douglass, is dedicated to preserving Maryland’s African American heritage, and serves as the state’s official repository of African American material culture.
