AAHS, founded in 1902 as the Annapolis Emergency Hospital, has evolved into a regional medical center serving Anne Arundel as well as parts of Prince George’s County and the Eastern Shore. AAHS is the umbrella organization for the non-profit Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC), Pathways (a non-profit inpatient/outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility for adolescents and adults), Anne Arundel Diagnostics, Nighttime Pediatrics, the askAAMC 24-hour health line, and three satellite lcations: Shipley’s Choice Medical Park in Millersville (a joint venture with University of Maryland Medicine), AAMC Health Services – Bowie and AAMC Health Services – Waugh Chapel.
